Peter Wallenstein, Ph.D.
Peter Wallenstein, Ph.D., professor of history at Virginia Tech, is an award winning teacher and author. He previously taught in New York, Canada, Korea, and Japan. His hundreds of publications include the book Cradle of America: Four Centuries of Virginia History (University Press of Kansas, 2007; second edition forthcoming 2014), as well as an edited book on segregation, desegregation, and higher education in the U.S. South, Higher Education and the Civil Rights Movement: White Supremacy, Black Southerners, and College Campuses (University Press of Florida, 2008). He has taught Teaching American History graduate courses on the History of Virginia and the Civil Rights Movement and has conducted workshops for teachers all over Virginia, most recently in Arlington, March 2014.
